LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, California Environmental Voters (EnviroVoters) released the following statement on 2026 Primary Election Results.

“Corporate interests spent heavily this primary, trying to buy outcomes and push California backward. In too many races they succeeded in making the path harder for progressive candidates than we’ve seen in years, including the Governor’s race and in battleground regions, like the Central Valley with AD-35, South LA with AD-65, and the Inland Empire with AD-36. But voters still sent a clear message by advancing climate champions across the state, like Ben Allen, Jessie Lopez, Mark Pulido, Paul Seo, and Randy Villegas.
The lesson from this election is simple: corporations already have enough power. They don’t need a louder voice than voters. If we want a democracy that delivers on climate action, affordability, and accountability, we need to reduce the influence of corporate money in politics so elections are decided by people, not by whoever can write the biggest check.”
