In a letter addressed to Governor Newsom, led by Assemblymember Eloise Gomez Reyes and signed by 36 additional legislators, raising the concern about pressure from polluting industries that are exploiting the COVID-19 public health crisis as an attempt to stop, delay, or weaken California’s environmental and public health protections. The letter asks that the state resist these efforts by polluting industries and urges the state and move forward with the development of life saving air quality protections, especially as we faced environmental rollbacks at the federal level.
