SB 30:
Opposing border wall construction
Author: Senator Ricardo Lara
This bill would have prohibited the state from renewing or awarding contracts to construct a border wall between Mexico and California. In addition to the tremendous negative human impact, any proposed border wall would threaten numerous endangered California desert species, as well as critically important cross-border wildlife corridors that ensure genetic diversity in those species’ populations.
