SB 258:
Cleaning products ingredient disclosure
Author: Senator Ricardo Lara
Unlike food, cosmetics, and drug manufacturers, most cleaning product manufacturers were not required to disclose ingredients—including chemicals linked to numerous health conditions that disproportionately affect low-wage workers, women, immigrants, and people of color. SB 258 requires ingredient disclosure on both product labels and web sites for most kinds of cleaning products sold to consumers and businesses.
