AB 708:
Right to Know: Ingredient labeling of cleaning products
Author: Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer
Unlike food, cosmetics, and drug manufacturers, most cleaning product manufacturers are not required to disclose ingredients—including chemicals linked to numerous health conditions that disproportionately affect low-wage workers, women, immigrants, and people of color. AB 708 (Jones-Sawyer) would have required ingredient disclosure on both product labels and web sites for most kinds of cleaning products sold to consumers and businesses.
