AB 700:
California DISCLOSE Act
Author: Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez
AB 700 (Gomez) would have amended the Political Reform Act of 1974 to require the three largest funders of $50,000 or more of ballot measure ads and ads about candidates by outside groups to be shown clearly and unambiguously so viewers see who’s actually paying for them – including identifying the original donors instead of misleading names.
